Eyes Closed Tight by Peter Leonard Review

Welcome to the March 11, 2014 blog tour stop for Eyes Closed Tight by Peter Leonard.

About the Book:

Former Detroit homicide detective, Oak O’Clair, has retired to Florida where he runs a motel with his younger girlfriend, Virginia, who is beautiful and can fix anything. Everything seems to be going great for him until the day he finds a young woman dead in his motel after a party from the previous night.

Then, there is a second murder and he realizes someone is trying to send the former detective message. Further, the way in which the victim is killed is a reminder of a case he worked on when he was still with the Detroit Police.  With this in mind, he returns to Detroit to figure out what he is missing especially since he now realizes the wrong man is behind bars.

While he is away, Virginia is kidnapped and he realizes that the murders are personal. The killer is trying to send him a message.

My Thoughts

Eyes Closed Tight is full of surprise and suspense and it will give your goose bumps until the very end. O’Clair is a likeable and believable character and Virginia is a perfect match for him.

The plot is messy and makes you nervous, especially as you try to figure out what the killer will do next. Here is the interesting twist, the reader knows who the killer is while O’Clair is scrambling his brain to make sense of it all.
